Carton, m³ or Ton: Shipping Türkiye to Syria

The published Syria table prices four units: a medium carton (0.1 m³, up to 15 kg), a large carton (0.2 m³, up to 30 kg), the cubic metre and the ton, all excluding customs. Arithmetically, one large carton is cheaper than two medium ones in every zone, and the cubic-metre rate is lower than the same volume in cartons, but the unit applied to your shipment is fixed in the quote.

The units in the Syria table

Medium carton 60×40×40 cm up to 15 kg (0.1 m³), large carton 80×50×50 cm up to 30 kg (0.2 m³), then the cubic metre and the ton. Prices: north (Idlib, Aleppo) $15, $20, $60 and $200; centre (Homs, Hama) $17, $23, $70 and $225; south (Damascus) $20, $25, $85 and $250.

One large carton or two medium?

A large carton holds the volume and weight of two medium cartons but costs less: $20 instead of $30 to Aleppo, $23 instead of $34 to Homs and $25 instead of $40 to Damascus. If your goods fill two medium cartons, ask for them to be packed in one large carton where the contents allow.

When the cubic metre is cheaper

A cubic metre equals five large or ten medium cartons. To Damascus, for example, five large cartons cost $125 while a cubic metre is $85; to Aleppo it is $100 against $60. Large commercial shipments are therefore worth asking whether the cubic-metre rate applies instead of the carton rate.

When the ton rate comes in

The ton applies to heavy goods whose weight is high relative to their volume, such as metal parts or dense materials. We do not set a rule for choosing between ton and cubic metre; send weight, dimensions and contents, and the quote states the unit applied and the final price before departure. Cosmetics have a separate table.
