Age words in Turkish stores
Yaş means age in years, Ay means month, and sizes are usually written as a range such as 2-3 Yaş. Baby clothing is sorted by months, older children’s by years. Next to them there is usually a Boy column, meaning height in centimetres, which is more accurate than age.
Why age alone is not enough
Age is a rough guide: two children of the same age can differ in height and build. Brands also cut differently, so a 4 Yaş in one store may equal a 5 in another. Make height the first reference and compare it with the product’s table, not with a size you bought earlier from another brand.
How to measure your child
Measure the child standing, without shoes, from floor to the top of the head in centimetres, and note chest girth if the table asks for it. Then read the matching column. Children grow fast, so if you are between sizes and the fit is loose, the larger is reasonable; for slim cuts always choose the larger.
What to write in the order notes
Write the size as shown in the store, the height you relied on, the child’s age, and the colour by its name on the page. Remember the return rule: within 14 days of the item reaching the consolidation centre, in original condition with tags, at your cost. The right size before buying is cheaper than a return.
