Paired Parts in Separate Bags: Keep a Link
When paired items go into separate bags, keep a shared reference and identify each component. Total quantity alone cannot prevent two visually similar pairs from being mixed.

Define the relationship
State whether the pair depends on one product code, matching size, complementary sides or an original factory grouping. Do not create a pair from similar-looking loose pieces. Retain supplier identifiers and use an additional packing reference as an organizing aid rather than a replacement for product identity.
Label the relationship clearly
An illustrative reference such as Group A with Part 1 and Part 2 works only if its meaning appears in the list. Use left and right labels only where the supplier defines them. Put organizing labels on suitable outer bags instead of marking the product or obscuring original identification.
Check the matching table
Give each shared reference a row containing both original codes and a reference image if available. Check that each part appears once and belongs to the intended pair. Four pieces do not prove two complete pairs if a side is duplicated or sizes are mixed.
Update the parcel locations
If a pair is split between cartons, record each component’s location while preserving the shared link. Review the reason and product implications before separating factory packaging. Request confirmation after a replacement instead of assuming that the previous pair reference remains accurate when one component changes.
