Identify contact points
Identify light and dark textiles that would touch inside the parcel, particularly at folds and pressure points. Do not claim that dye transfer has occurred without evidence.
Choose a suitable separator
Request a clean separator suitable for the materials. Avoid coloured paper or tape directly on fabric. A barrier separates surfaces; it does not guarantee colourfastness.
Record dampness
Record observed dampness before packing and request a review. Do not seal a damp item with the remaining clothing merely to complete the shipment. Two differently coloured textiles may need a separator at the fold rather than one bag around both. Mark the contact surface to isolate on the packing plan before sealing.
Avoid unauthorized testing
Do not wash or rub a new garment to test its dye without authorization. That changes its condition and may affect a store return request.
