Identify the section shape

A triangular tube is not a cylinder. Record its section shape and package length, measuring external width and height rather than inventing an equivalent circular diameter.

Measure external edges

Place it in its stable position and measure the furthest external edges, including caps and projections. The length of the contents alone is insufficient.

Keep a dimension sketch

Sketch the triangular section and label its dimensions using a consistent unit. Do not automatically turn the triangle's area into a chargeable volumetric-weight calculation. Put length, horizontal width and height on one sketch. If the triangular section is reoriented, identify the change rather than silently relabelling dimensions, so another reviewer can repeat the measurement.

Confirm the charging method

Send the shape and dimensions for confirmation of the carrier's charging method. Any estimate needs the applicable service divisor and does not establish acceptance of nonrectangular packaging.
