Measure the finished shape

A bulging carton may exceed its printed nominal dimensions. Request outside measurements after protection and closure, including actual protrusions. The empty box specification is not a measurement of the prepared parcel.

Review the cause

Distinguish poor arrangement from space needed to protect the contents. Do not force the box smaller to obtain a lower number. Ask about an appropriate rearrangement and measure again if its shape changes.

Calculate volume only

Illustrative dimensions of 40 by 30 by 20 cm give 24,000 cubic centimetres. A height of 24 cm gives 28,800. This compares geometric volume; it is not a dimensional-weight formula or a tariff for any shipping route.

Approve the correct figures

Use final dimensions and actual weight in the calculator or support review. Confirm route-specific measuring and rounding rules. A percentage change in volume does not establish an equal percentage change in price without the applicable charging method.

Common questions

Can I rely on printed carton dimensions?

They do not replace final outside measurements.

Does the example calculate dimensional weight?

No. It calculates geometric volume only.

Should I compress the bulge to lower the price?

Review suitable packing, then measure without damaging the contents.
