Two ways to ship darbukas and hand drums to Syria

If you buy darbukas and hand drums yourself from a store that delivers inside Turkey, enter the receiving-centre address with your name and box number, and the order is logged to your account. If the store rejects your card or asks for a Turkish phone, send the links with Buy for Me. Parcels stay free at the warehouse for up to 30 days so you can combine orders.

Transit time and mode

The parcel travels by land from Turkey, and transit is about two weeks once the shipment leaves, after the store’s own delivery inside Turkey to the warehouse. Once it arrives, the parcel is delivered in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Hama and other cities, and you follow each step from your account.

How the price is worked out

Syria has published reference rates by region; a medium carton (60×40×40 cm, up to 15 kg) runs from 15 US dollars for the northern governorates to 20 for Damascus, customs excluded, and the price is confirmed per shipment. Aluminium darbukas are sturdy and fairly light, while clay ones are fragile; ask for padded packing that protects the head and rim, air suits one or two, and land is cheaper for several.

Material and sound

Turkish hammered aluminium darbukas are known for a sharp clear sound, copper ones are heavier and richer, and clay ones traditional and warm. Synthetic heads stay stable with heat and humidity better than natural skin. Charges may apply in Syria by value and quantity, and commercial quantities need a separate quote.
