Ajloun, Petra and Wadi Rum Gear: Decathlon or Sportive?

If you are preparing for a hike in Ajloun, Petra or Wadi Rum, trail gear differs from gym clothes. Order hiking boots, packs and camping equipment from Decathlon, which is built for rough use at a fair price, and city sneakers and training wear of known brands from Sportive. Check beforehand what air freight forbids.

Hiking boots by trail

Ajloun trails are wooded and muddy in winter, while Petra and Wadi Rum are rocky and sandy. Choose a boot with a durable sole and ankle support for Ajloun, and a lighter breathable pair for desert sand. Try boots with the same hiking socks and take half a size up, since feet swell after hours of walking.

Clothing and temperature swings

Wadi Rum nights are very cold even in summer, and Ajloun winters are wet and cold. Use layers: a base layer that wicks sweat, a warm mid layer, and a shell against wind and rain. Decathlon covers these layers at fair prices, and Sportive covers city sportswear.

What cannot go by air

Small camping gas cartridges, aerosols and some large batteries are restricted or banned on aircraft under IATA rules, and the final decision belongs to the carrier. Buy these locally in Jordan or ask our team before ordering. A tent, sleeping bag and pack are fine but take up a lot of volume.

How orders ship and arrive

Jordan is served by land through Syria or by sea to Aqaba depending on the shipment; Amman, Irbid and Zarqa get home delivery, and Aqaba is the entry point for bulkier shipments. There is no fixed published rate for Jordan; cost and schedule are confirmed before departure. Write your Jordan address with city, area, street, building number and a nearby landmark, plus the recipient name and an active phone number. Keep the seller invoices. Import requirements and duties are set by Jordan Customs.
