The Oman route runs by air to Muscat, then by road to Sohar, Salalah, Nizwa and the other wilayats. Each move from plane to warehouse to vehicle means lifting and loading, and the road from Muscat to Salalah is long. So packing that is enough for a parcel to a nearby city may not be enough here, and extra effort is worth it.
Double boxing step by step
Put the fragile piece in its original box, then put that box in a larger carton with a gap of about five centimeters on every side filled with paper or bubble wrap. Wrap glass and ceramics piece by piece, and watch the corners, as they take the most damage. Do not leave a gap that lets contents move inside the carton when the parcel is shaken.
Size and weight
The greater of actual and dimensional weight is the one charged, so extra filling raises the volume and the cost. Do not add a carton bigger than needed, and ask the team for the packed weight and dimensions before you pay. Write your address with governorate, wilayat, neighborhood and a nearby landmark, and keep your phone active because the delivery distance can be long.
