Shoe Fit Checklist Beyond the Size Number
A shoe size is a starting point, not the whole story: read the width, the sole flexibility, the closure and the inside length. Send the link so the team reviews it with you before payment.

Width and last
The number sets the length and the width sets the comfort: wide feet need a wider last. Read whether the model describes its width, and compare it with shoes you already find comfortable.
Sole flexibility
A flexible sole bends with the step, and a stiff one annoys on long walks. Look at the sole photos and whether the tread is ridged, because a smooth tread slips on polished floors.
The closure
Laces adjust the fit precisely, velcro is faster and a zip is easy to enter. Choose by your use, and read the lace or zip length in the photos.
The inside length
Read the inside length in centimetres when the model states it and compare it with your foot length. Some brands shift the European number slightly, so the inside number is the most accurate reference.
